I have an account from my previous employer, and it got closed. I have the previous MC ID associated with the certifications.

I need help in getting the current MC ID merged with the previous MC ID.

MCID (the ID used with the old Certification Profile) has been retired along with the Certification Profile. It cannot be merged with another MCID.

All historical certification data is now tied to the Microsoft Learn profile and identified by the Learn Username instead of MCID. To consolidate certifications that were associated with different accounts:

    1. Sign in to the Learn profile that should become the primary profile.
    2. Go to Settings → Account Management and use Add login account to add the other login accounts that were previously used with certifications.
    3. If the added login account is associated with another Learn profile, this will trigger a Learn Profile Merge. Merging combines learning progress and certification data from both profiles into a single Learn profile and cannot be undone.
    4. After merge, all certifications from both profiles are available under the merged Learn profile, and the Learn Username becomes the unique identifier going forward.

If additional help is needed (for example, if one of the accounts is no longer accessible), contact Certification Support as described in the FAQ.
