Based on your sharing, the answer is yes, you can have Cameo on just the first slide and do regular recording (audio-only) for the rest since PowerPoint treats Cameo as a camera setting while recording.
In PowerPoint for Mac, inserting a cameo on first slide will add the cameo to all slides when you record even if you don't add cameo to the remain slides except the first one. However, as Cameo is considered as a camera setting while recording, so starting from slide 2, you can turn the Camera OFF and still leave the Microphone ON then continue recording slide 2 onward as regular audio-only recording.
