Microsoft 365 dark mode resets and File Explorer sign-in error

I’m a small Microsoft 365 Business Standard tenant admin trying to learn as I go. In the tenant, dark mode in the web apps keeps re-enabling itself after I turn it off, and I can’t find any setting in the admin center that controls this.
Also, File Explorer keeps asking me to sign in, but when I try I get “There’s something wrong with your account,” even though the account looks fine in the Microsoft portal. I’m not sure which tenant, identity, or device integration settings I should check to fix this.
