I disconnect from xbox parties whenever someone gets a notification (achievement, leaving or joining party or message)

Whenever anyone in the same xbox party as me gets any notification of sort (achievement, someone leaving or joining party or message) I disconnect and can only reconnect after entering a separate party ensuring I can connect and speak on that and then rejoining the original party. This has been happening for a week now. I have restarted my console and wifi countless times. I have tried both wired and wireless connection. I have fast wifi speeds so don't see how wifi connections could be the issue.

Work through these steps in order; test parties after each step:

    1. Power‑cycle network equipment
      • Turn off the console.
      • Unplug power from modem and router for at least 30 seconds.
      • Plug modem back in, wait for lights to stabilize, then plug in router and wait again.
      • Turn the console back on and test party chat.
    2. Forget and re‑add Wi‑Fi (if using wireless)
      • On Windows (if using Xbox app) or on the console’s network settings, remove the saved Wi‑Fi network.
      • Reconnect by selecting the network again and entering the password.
    3. Try the other Wi‑Fi band or a different network
      • If the router exposes both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz SSIDs, connect to the other one and test.
      • If possible, test on a completely different network (mobile hotspot, friend’s network). If the issue disappears, the problem is likely with router configuration (QoS, firewall, or NAT handling party traffic).
    4. Use wired with Wi‑Fi fully disabled
      • Connect the console via Ethernet.
      • Disable Wi‑Fi on the console so only wired is active.
      • Test parties again. If wired works but Wi‑Fi does not, focus on router wireless settings and interference.
    5. Check for router firmware and reset
      • Update router firmware from the router’s admin page.
      • If the problem persists and only affects Xbox parties, consider a full router reset to factory defaults (note this will remove all custom settings like SSID, password, port forwards).
    6. Check for local bandwidth limits on Windows (if using Xbox app on PC)
      • In Windows Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Delivery Optimization, ensure download limits are disabled or set to 100% so background updates are not starving party traffic.

If the problem continues after these steps on multiple networks, the next step is to contact Xbox Support with details (console model, network type, and exact time of disconnects) so they can review logs and check for account- or service‑side issues.
