Issue during my online exam with Pearson VUE

Hello,

I had an issue during my exam session. I successfully completed all the system requirements and was waiting for the proctor. When the proctor joined and started speaking with me, they informed me that there was a problem with my name because the name registered on the exam account did not exactly match the name on my ID.

The proctor told me that I would need to reschedule the exam. A new schedule page appeared, and I selected a new exam date. However, when I opened the new appointment later, I could not find the exam anymore.

Could you please help me resolve this issue?

Thank you.

This issue is related to the mismatch between the legal name on the Microsoft Learn / certification profile and the ID shown to the proctor. When the names do not match exactly, the proctor cannot proceed and will require the exam to be rescheduled.

    To resolve this:

    1. Ensure the certification profile has the correct legal name:
      • Update the legal name so that it exactly matches the ID that will be used at check-in. Guidance is under Manage your certification profile and Register and schedule an exam.
    2. Reschedule or confirm the exam appointment from the Learn profile:
      • Sign in to the Learn profile.
      • Go to Profile → Credentials → Certifications.
      • Locate the exam appointment.
      • If the appointment is visible, use Reschedule to confirm or change the date.
      • If the appointment is missing or cannot be opened, proceed to the next step.
    3. Contact the appropriate support channel:
      • For issues with scheduling, missing appointments, or name/profile problems in the Microsoft certification system, contact Microsoft Credentials / Certification support as indicated in the Q&A references.
      • If Pearson VUE indicated the exam was rescheduled but it does not appear, Pearson VUE support can confirm the appointment status and, if needed, reinstate or reschedule it.

Because the proctor already stopped the session due to the name mismatch, the key is to correct the legal name in the certification profile first, then work with Microsoft Certification support and/or Pearson VUE support to restore or reschedule the exam appointment.
