Why is TODO insisting that I must reset my password?

20 minutes ago, I tried to set a reminder using TODO, which is a part of my Microsoft 365 Family Edition as a part of the Outlook app. But instead, it insisted that I authenticate with my authenticator app, which is Microsoft Authenticator. It gave me a number to enter when I was in the Microsoft Authenticator app. I noticed the number, then I opened the Microsoft Authenticator app. There was no prompt for me to enter the number, or accept it from a list of possible numbers, etc. I waited several minutes, but nothing happened in the Microsoft Authenticator app. Then, after several minutes, TODO insisted that I had to change my Microsoft account password!!

Why am I being forced to change my Microsoft account password for Microsoft Authenticator app doing nothing???

Why am I being forced to change my password for my Microsoft account because TODO wouldn't just work, like Outlook does? Like Excel does? Like PowerPoint does???

What in heck is going on??? Why is Microsoft 365 so screwed up???
