so, I currently have Minecraft on my Nintendo switch (physical cartridge)

I'm logged into my Xbox/Microsoft account on both devices, yet Minecraft won't show up on my laptop, do I have to pay again or is there a detailed guide on how to get the game to show on my laptop

(wasn't sure where to ask so apologies in advance)

Minecraft on Nintendo Switch (with a physical cartridge) is a separate purchase from Minecraft for Windows on a laptop. The Switch edition license does not automatically grant the Windows (PC) edition, even if the same Microsoft/Xbox account is used.

To play on the laptop, Minecraft must appear as a purchased app or game for that device in the Microsoft account. To check this and install it on Windows:

    1. On the laptop, open Microsoft Store (select Start > Microsoft Store).
    2. Select the account icon and then My Library.
    3. Look for Minecraft in the list.
      • If it shows with a Download icon, select it to download and install.
      • If it does not appear at all, it has not been purchased for that Microsoft account on PC, and a separate purchase is required.

If Minecraft is later purchased digitally for Windows using the same Microsoft account, it will then show in My Library on that device and can be installed from there.
