I have had this same issue since the spring. The answers below from Microsoft Staff are not helpful. Windows update KB5087544 removed the zoom slider feature. When I uninstalled the update, the feature was restored but the update continues to reinstall and presumably has other important features. It appears that Windows has decided that we don't need a zoom feature anymore, which is unfortunate because some of us do for our work.

Please return this feature as an option.

Use Camera settings in Windows and the Camera app to restore zoom, tilt, and other controls.

Open Camera settings for the device
1. Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Cameras (or use the shortcut: Open Bluetooth & devices > Cameras).
2. Under Connected cameras, select the camera that lost zoom/tilt controls.
3. A live preview opens with available controls. Depending on the camera, controls can include Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness, Rotation, and Video HDR.
4. Adjust the image as needed; changes are saved as the new default for that camera and user.
Note: Some cameras (for example, certain DirectShow or proprietary cameras) do not appear in this Camera settings page and may instead rely on the manufacturer’s own app for zoom/tilt.
Check the Windows Camera app settings
1. Open the Camera app.
2. Select the Settings icon in the top-left corner.
3. Under Camera settings, enable Show advanced controls for photos and videos if available.
4. If supported, choose whether to use settings from the Camera app or from system Camera settings (Camera settings).
5. Under Photo settings and Video settings, adjust quality and other options.
Use zoom in the Camera app (if supported)
- On a touchscreen device, use two fingers to pinch (zoom in) or stretch (zoom out) while taking a photo or video.

If zoom/tilt controls are still missing, the camera hardware or its driver may not expose those features to Windows; in that case, use the camera manufacturer’s configuration app if one is provided under Related settings in the Camera settings page.

Does the issue occur with all apps (e.g., Teams, Zoom, Camera app), or only one specific app?

Option 1: Check camera privacy permissions

Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera
Make sure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are turned On

Option 2: Verify advanced camera properties in Device Manager

Open Device Manager from the Start menu
Expand Cameras
Right-click your camera and select Properties
Check the Advanced or Camera Control tab (if available) for zoom/tilt options

Option 3: Reinstall the camera driver (clean refresh)

In Device Manager, right-click your camera > Uninstall device
Check Delete the driver software if shown
Restart the device to reinstall automatically

Hi yes. I did that all myself and a support team member logged on remotely and did the same. It didn’t work.

apparently there has been an update to software that has deleted the camera controls.

nothing worked. It’s very frustrating. I am now supposed to be waiting until a new update is sent out

Done that again, the tech support guy did that too and it didn't work. It hasn't worked again this time

You can try the step: Test with a different user profile

Open Settings > Accounts > Other users

Select Add account

Click I don’t have this person’s sign-in information

Select Add a user without a Microsoft account

Enter a username and password (optional), then click Next

Sign in and check if camera controls appear there step by step

Thank you for your response. Please try the step:

Go to Windows 11 website: Download Windows 11

Under Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) select Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO)

Once done downloading the ISO, kindly right-click on ISO then click Mount> then Click Setup.exe

You may be prompted by User Account Control. If so, click on Yes.

In the Install Windows 11 dialog, click Next.

Setup will check your PC and show a license agreement. Click on Accept in the license terms dialog.

Wait for the setup program to check for the available free space.

On the Ready to install page, make sure Keep personal files and apps has been checked.

Then click Install and just follow the prompt.

Windows 11 will restart your device several times and lead you to the lock screen. Depending on the options you set, it will keep all your files, apps, and user accounts.

Based on the report and the steps you’ve already tried, it seems Windows might no longer support that feature. You can try rolling back the driver to check:

Open Device Manager from the Start menu

Find your device

Right-click it > choose Properties

Go to the Driver tab

Click Roll Back Driver (if available)

Choose a reason > click Yes

Restart your PC

Additionally, I’ve also tested it in my own test environment, and I’m not seeing it either.

So apart from contacting the feedback hub, that's all I can do? I received this feedback from Lenovo and they put the problem at your door so I would expect you to resolve it and restore a feature I want on my computer - Dear Derek, Thank you for contacting Lenovo Technical Support. Thank you for your message. I understand how important the camera zoom and framing features are for your work, and I appreciate the time you’ve already spent trying to resolve this.

After reviewing your case and the previous troubleshooting steps, I can confirm that this is not a hardware fault. The camera itself is functioning correctly. The issue is related to software changes introduced by recent Windows updates, which removed the previous zoom and framing options from the Windows Camera settings.

This is why the controls you were previously using are no longer available.

Funnily enough it has now happened on my laptop too.

the desktop fixed itself a while ago. I think it was something to do with the Lenovo app that records meetings and voice calls which o didn’t want either.

Interesting that it fixed itself. It's been my laptop the whole time. So annoying. I submitted a request/complaint on the Feedback Hub months ago but no response. Just submitted again. I think they want us to enjoy these new "Windows Studio Effects" which are useless IMO
