Dear Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I would like to kindly request an extension for my Azure credits expiry.

Due to ongoing client on-premise pilot engagements during this period, I was not able to fully utilize the credits as originally planned. Additionally, there was an initial delay in activating and accessing the credits because of the time required to complete company establishment verification and related documentation processes.

As a result of these circumstances, the available credits could not be consumed effectively within the current validity period, despite having active plans and workloads prepared for deployment.

I am currently building and validating multiple tenant-based pilot initiatives in the GCC region, and Azure services are a critical part of my planned infrastructure and AI-driven platform development roadmap. As a solo founder leading this journey independently, these credits would significantly help me continue product validation, customer onboarding pilots, and infrastructure experimentation in the coming months.

I sincerely request your consideration for an extension of the current credit expiry so I can continue utilizing Azure for these active initiatives.

Open a Billing Support Request

• Sign in to the Azure portal, go to Help + support → New support request.

• For Issue type choose “Billing” → Category: “Subscription and billing” → Sub-category: “Azure credits or offers”.

• Fill in your subscription ID, credit offer name (e.g. Founders Hub, Sponsorship, VS Dev/Test, etc.), and attach any company-verification proof or pilot project overview.

What to Include in Your Request

• Subscription ID and Azure directory (tenant) where the credits live.

• Exact credit offer name (e.g. Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, Visual Studio Dev/Test, Nonprofit Grant, etc.)

• Original activation date and current expiry date of the credits.

• Remaining credit balance.

• Clear justification: initial company‐verification delay dates, pilot project timeline, your planned usage over the extension period, and business impact if credits lapse.

Follow-up & Escalation Path

• The billing team (ASMS) will review your documentation and may grant a limited extension.

• If you’re in a Partner program, your Partner Development Manager or Partner Center may also approve extension requests.

Azure startup and nonprofit credits cannot be extended beyond their defined validity periods.

For startup offers:

Startup credits expire 90 days after initial redemption or 180 days after successful business verification.
Expiration periods cannot be extended, and unused credits do not carry over or get reissued.

For nonprofit Azure grants:

The annual credit (for example, $2,000) is valid for one grant year and does not roll over.
Microsoft does not increase or extend nonprofit grants beyond the standard annual amount.

To proceed:

Plan for your current credits to expire at the stated date, as an extension is not supported by policy.
If applicable (for nonprofit scenarios), ensure the grant is renewed on time so that new annual credits are applied going forward.
If this is a startup offer and more credits are needed for pilots, review other Microsoft for Startups benefits (such as Pilot Acceleration, if eligible) that can provide additional Azure credits for qualified pilots.
If there is any confusion about which benefit applies to the subscription, or if there are technical/billing issues with activation or usage, open a billing/support request through the Azure portal or the appropriate program support channel so a support engineer can review the specific account.
