Retirement of Sidebar App List in Microsoft Edge 149

We’re simplifying Microsoft Edge by retiring the sidebar app list. Starting with Edge version 149, the sidebar app list will no longer be available. Effective immediately, new apps can no longer be added to the sidebar, and any apps currently pinned in the app tower will be removed once the Edge 149 update is installed.

This change does not affect Copilot, which will remain available in the sidebar. We are continuing to improve and enhance Copilot to provide even more value going forward.

So why did Microsoft suddenly do this? The only reason we were using Microsoft Edge was this feature. I used to put the Bing Translator and Copilot tabs on the sidebar. If Microsoft doesn’t bring this feature back, I don’t see a reason to use it and will switch to Opera. At least Opera cares about its users.

Please bring these features back soon!

It was one of the main reasons we continue to use Edge; by removing it, you're pushing us to switch to other, more productive browsers.
