Phone calls cannot be made, but the printer issue on Windows with Microsoft 365 apps can be worked through using these steps:
- Update Microsoft 365/Office and Windows
- In Word or another Office app, go to File > Account > Update Options, then choose the available update option to install the latest Office updates.
- Also use Microsoft Update on the PC to ensure Windows and Office are fully updated.
- Update or reinstall the printer driver
- Visit the official support site for the printer’s manufacturer (for example, HP, Canon, Epson).
- Locate the exact printer model and download the newest driver that matches the Windows version.
- Install the driver using the manufacturer’s installer.
- Remove and re‑add the printer in Windows
- Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the affected printer and choose Remove, then confirm.
- Select Add device (or Add a printer or scanner) and let Windows detect and reinstall the printer.
- If automatic detection or installation fails, choose Add manually, then:
- Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings > Next.
- Choose Use an existing port and select the port the printer uses (USB, LPT, or COM) > Next.
- Install the driver via Windows Update or Have Disk, then follow the prompts.
- When prompted, name the printer, choose whether to share it, and select Print a test page to confirm it works.
- Restart the Print Spooler service

services.msc, and press Enter. - Scroll to Print Spooler, right‑click it, and select Restart.

- Use Windows printer troubleshooting
- On Windows 10, press the Windows logo key, type Devices and printers, and open it.
- Right‑click the printer and select Troubleshoot, then follow the on‑screen steps.
- You can also run the automated printer troubleshooter in the Get Help app using the Run the troubleshooter in Get Help link.
- Repair Microsoft 365/Office if only Office apps fail to print
- Open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Select Microsoft 365 (or Microsoft Office) and choose Modify.
- Run Quick Repair and test printing.
- If the problem remains, run Online Repair and test again.
- If issues continue
- Contact the printer manufacturer’s support for device‑specific diagnostics and firmware/driver checks.
- Optionally, open Start > Feedback Hub > Report a problem to send details about ongoing printing issues to Microsoft.
