I have an email address @guichards.net I went on godaddy to establish this email address; but I receive my emails through outlook mail. Talk to me like a first grader. Do I need to keep my subscription with godaddy to keep my special email address?

Yes, the GoDaddy subscription for the domain must be kept to keep using the special email address.

    Explained simply:

    1. The “special” part of the email is the custom name after the @ sign (guichards.net). That custom name is called a domain.
    2. GoDaddy is where that domain was bought and where it is kept alive.
    3. Outlook.com is just where the mail is read and sent from; it does not own the domain.
    4. If the GoDaddy domain subscription is not renewed, the domain can expire. When that happens, the special email address (******@guichards.net) will stop working, even if Outlook is still used.

So, to keep using ******@guichards.net, the domain at GoDaddy must stay active and its DNS settings must stay as they are.
