Try these steps in order, testing purchases again after each step:

    1. Verify payment method and account status
      • Go to the Payment options page and make sure the credit/debit card or other payment method is valid, not expired, and correctly entered.
      • Check the Services page to confirm there are no overdue Microsoft subscriptions on the account.
      • Make sure the Microsoft account is not temporarily suspended and, if using Xbox services (for Minecoins), that the Xbox account is not suspended.
    2. Check security/antivirus and pop‑ups
      • Ensure the PC’s antivirus or security software is not blocking pop‑ups or payment confirmation windows, as this can prevent Microsoft Store purchases from completing.
      • If safe to do so, temporarily disable or adjust the antivirus to allow the Store to show payment dialogs, then try again.
    3. Confirm the Store app is working correctly
      • If purchases fail only for specific items (like Robux or Minecoins), confirm other purchases or free app installs work. If nothing can be purchased or installed, reset the Microsoft Store app:
        1. Press Windows key + R.
        2. Type wsreset.exe and select OK.
        3. A blank Command Prompt opens and closes; Microsoft Store will then open automatically.
        4. Try the purchase again.
    4. Check for regional or account issues
      • Ensure the region settings in Windows and in the Microsoft account match the actual country/region, as some content and payment methods are region‑specific.
      • If there are pre‑orders involved (for example, a bundle that includes currency), sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/orders, locate the order, and use Change how you pay to switch or update the payment method.

If, after these steps, purchases still fail, use the guided support troubleshooter for Microsoft Store buying issues to diagnose and fix account‑ or billing‑related problems.
