A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Dear @Sunil Damle,
Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing difficulties with OneDrive syncing on your iPad despite trying multiple steps.
Based on your description, this behavior may be related to how the OneDrive mobile app functions on iOS devices. Unlike desktop clients, the OneDrive app on iPad does not continuously sync files in the background; instead, files are typically uploaded or refreshed when the app is actively in use or when actions are performed such as opening or editing files.
In this case, I would recommend the following steps:
1.Reset the OneDrive app
- Open OneDrive app
- Tap Profile (top-left icon)
- Go to Settings > Account
- Tap Reset
2.Fully reinstall the app
- Uninstall OneDrive
- Restart iPad
- Install again from App Store
- Sign in again
3.Check if background behavior is blocked
On iPad, sync might fail if:
- App is force-closed
- Background refresh is off
Please check: Settings > OneDrive > enable Background App Refresh. Do not swipe up and close the app
4.Verify account and connection
- Correct account signed in (work vs personal)
- Stable internet, you can try another Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot
5.Test file behavior
- Upload a new file manually
- Edit a file and save
In addition, I recommend trying the troubleshooting steps outlined in the Microsoft support articles below and checking whether they help resolve the issue on your device.
If the issue still persists, please kindly provide some information:
- May I ask which version of Microsoft Office you're currently using (e.g., Office 365, Office 2021)?
- Are you signing in with a personal Microsoft account or a work/school account on your iPad?
- Could you please confirm the current iPadOS version installed on your device? Also, which version of the OneDrive app you are currently using?
- Whether you are seeing any error messages in the app. If so, I would appreciate it if you could share a screenshot of the issue.
- Whether this issue occurs only on your iPad, or if you are experiencing similar behavior on other platforms such as desktop or when accessing OneDrive via web browser?
These details will help me narrow down the issue and provide you with the most appropriate resolution.
Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated. Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day!
I am looking forward to your response!
