A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
The behavior comes from using a labels layout that is linked for mail merge (or a labels main document) instead of a plain sheet of independent labels. In that mode, all labels repeat the same content by design. To get 30 unique labels on Avery 8460, use a labels layout that is not set up as a mail merge and type directly into the table cells.
Use one of these approaches:
- Create a fresh sheet of independent labels
- In Word, go to Mailings > Labels.
- Select Options.
- Under Label vendors, choose Avery US Letter.
- In Product number, select 8460.
- Select OK, then select New Document.
- Word opens a new document that is just a table matching Avery 8460. Each cell is independent.
- Type the painting title, size, and price separately in each label cell. They will no longer all change together.
- Print as usual.
If gridlines are not visible, go to Layout > Align > View Gridlines so the label cells are easy to see.
- Use a built‑in Avery template instead of the old one
- Go to File > New.
- In the search box, type Avery.
- Choose an Avery‑compatible label template that matches 8460 or standard address labels.
- Create the document and type unique content in each label cell.
These methods create a simple table of labels, not a mail‑merge main document, so each label can have different text without updating the others.
