I'm a solo founder at FirstCMMS, building a multi-tenant SaaS CMMS platform for data center operations. I'd like to apply for Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub benefits, but the portal.startups.microsoft.com signup flow only offers two paths:

Investor-network affiliated startups (we have no VC backing — bootstrapped)
Brand-new Azure customers (we're an existing Azure customer since February 2026)

Neither applies to my situation. Per the published Founders Hub eligibility criteria, I appear to meet all requirements:

For-profit software company ✓
Privately held ✓
Pre-Series C ✓
Not a consultancy/agency ✓
Less than $350K in lifetime free Azure credits ✓
Headquartered in Azure-supported region (US) ✓
Software-based product (not licensed from another party) ✓

I previously opened Azure Support ticket ############## (April 20) but it has remained unanswered for 9 days. Could you please advise on the correct application path for existing Azure customers who are bootstrapped and meet Founders Hub eligibility criteria?

Azure Startup Credit Offer: explicitly requires "no prior Azure account" and a personal MSA. I have an existing Azure subscription on a Microsoft Customer Agreement under a work tenant.

Microsoft for Startups Investor Offer: requires affiliation with the Microsoft for Startups Investor Network, which I don't have (bootstrapped, no VC/accelerator).

Is there any current path for an existing bootstrapped Azure customer (active subscription, no investor affiliation) to receive any form of startup credit benefit? Or has the program structure entirely removed support for bootstrapped founders without investor network connections?

If the latter, please confirm so I can stop pursuing this and adjust planning accordingly.

For bootstrapped startups without an investor referral, the supported path is the Azure startup credit offer, not the Microsoft for Startups investor offer.

From the current program structure:

There are two distinct paths:
- Azure startup credit offer – open to all eligible startups (no investor, no application required).
- Microsoft for Startups investor offer – only for startups affiliated with the Microsoft for Startups Investor Network, which requires a referral code from an accelerator/VC/university/angel in that network.
Eligibility for the investor offer explicitly requires:
- Affiliation with an investor in the Microsoft for Startups Investor Network.
- A referral code provided directly by that investor, accelerator, incubator, or university.

Because there is no investor affiliation or referral code, the Microsoft for Startups investor offer path in the startups portal is not available. The correct option for a bootstrapped startup that already uses Azure is:

Use the Azure startup credit offer to obtain up to $5,000 in Azure credits:
- $1,000 in credits (valid for 90 days) on sign-up.
- An additional $4,000 (valid for 180 days) after business verification.
If in the future the company becomes affiliated with an investor in the Microsoft for Startups Investor Network, request their referral code and then apply for the Microsoft for Startups investor offer via the startups portal.

For issues with the startups portal or unanswered tickets related to Microsoft for Startups status or benefits, the documented escalation path is:

Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups portal to verify eligibility status.
If status cannot be verified or there are portal issues, create a Microsoft for Startups support request using the dedicated support form.

Azure Support tickets generally do not manage Microsoft for Startups program onboarding; program-specific support is handled through the Microsoft for Startups support channel.
