Regaining Access to Admin Center After Global Admin Departure
Hello,
I am seeking guidance on the correct escalation path for a "locked-out" scenario regarding our Microsoft 365 Business tenant.
The Situation: Our company’s sole Global Administrator has left the organization and is unavailable. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is currently tied to their unreachable device, leaving our company with no administrative access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
The Goal: I need help gaining access to the Admin Center to assign a new administrator. If that is not possible, I need to find a way to close the account and stop the billing so we can start fresh with a new business account that we can actually access.
Previous Action Taken: I have attempted to resolve this through the phone support lines over 10 times. Unfortunately, I’ve been frequently disconnected by the automated assistant, or promised callbacks from the support team have not materialized.
Question for the Community: Since I cannot log in to open a formal service request through the Admin Center, what is the most effective way to reach the Data Protection Team to begin the identity verification process? Are there specific "keywords" or prompts to use with the phone system to get through to the right department?
Thanks for your help,
