Sole Global Admin locked out of Entra ID tenant — Authenticator MFA loop / tenant lockout

Hello,

I’m assisting an organization that is completely locked out of its Microsoft Entra ID / Microsoft 365 tenant.

Details:

The affected account is the only Global Administrator

Password is correct, but MFA cannot be completed

Sign‑in only offers:

Approve in Microsoft Authenticator

  *Use a verification code*
  
  Both routes go to Authenticator, but **no push is received and no code is shown**

There are no other admins, no break‑glass account, and no alternate MFA methods, so the Entra and M365 admin portals are inaccessible.

This appears to be a tenant lockout due to a broken Authenticator MFA registration, which I believe requires escalation to the Microsoft Data Protection / Tenant Recovery team for ownership verification and MFA reset.

The tenant owner can provide domain, billing, or nonprofit verification as needed.

The issue pertains to a tenant lockout, where no other global admin in the tenant has the necessary permissions to login and make changes in your tenant.
