I purchased office 2024 but office 365 keeps getting installed. I don't want office 365

On Mac, Office 2024 must be installed and activated from the Microsoft account where it was redeemed; otherwise, the installer or apps may default to a Microsoft 365 subscription.

To get Office 2024 instead of Microsoft 365:

Remove existing Microsoft 365/old Office
- Uninstall any Microsoft 365 or trial Office already installed. On Mac, remove the Office apps and related files as described in the Mac uninstall guidance (similar to removing preinstalled Microsoft 365 noted in the Windows examples).
- This avoids conflicts where an existing Microsoft 365 installation or license overrides the new Office 2024 license.
Sign in with the correct Microsoft account
- Go to the Services & subscriptions page for the Microsoft account that was used to redeem or buy Office 2024 (for home products, the license is tied to a personal Microsoft account, not to the download file).
- Verify that “Office Home 2024” or the purchased Office 2024 product appears there. If it does not, check other Microsoft accounts that might have been used when redeeming the key.
Download Office 2024 from the account page
- From the Services & subscriptions page, next to the Office 2024 product, select Install → Install on this device.
- This download is the one-time purchase (non‑subscription) Office 2024 installer, not Microsoft 365.
Install and activate Office 2024
- Run the downloaded installer package on the Mac.
- After installation, open Word or Excel.
- When prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account that shows the Office 2024 license under Services & subscriptions.
- The product should then activate as Office 2024 (one‑time purchase), not Microsoft 365.

If Microsoft 365 still appears after these steps, it usually means either:

A Microsoft 365 license is still associated with the signed‑in account, or
The Office 2024 key was not redeemed correctly to the intended Microsoft account.
