Copilot flagged our website a scam

Copilot safety systems can sometimes classify content or sites as unsafe or potentially scam-related based on automated signals and policies designed to protect users. When that happens in error, the only way to get it corrected is to report the issue directly to Microsoft so it can be reviewed and, if appropriate, adjusted.

To address this:

1. Use the official concern-reporting channel
   • Submit a report describing that the site is legitimate and is being incorrectly flagged by Copilot. Include:
     • The product (Microsoft Copilot / Copilot in Edge, etc.).
     • What the user sees (exact warning text, screenshots if possible).
     • That this is harming a legitimate business.
   • The appropriate entry point for this is the “report a concern” page for Copilot-related issues: report a concern here.
2. Provide as much detail as possible
   • Clearly state that only Copilot is flagging the site and other major services are not.
   • Describe the site’s purpose, ownership, and any relevant business registrations or public profiles that demonstrate legitimacy.
   • If this happens in Edge with Copilot, mention that explicitly (for example, “Copilot in Edge conversation about our domain is labeling it as a scam”).
3. Monitor and respond to any follow-up
   • After submission, Microsoft may use the report to review how the site is being classified within Copilot’s safety systems and adjust if it is determined to be a false positive.

If there are broader technical or privacy concerns with Copilot’s behavior, those can also be raised through Microsoft’s support and concern channels referenced in the Copilot FAQ and “Report a concern” guidance.
