Issue with personal event registration link

The personal event link https://msevents.microsoft.com/api/Redirect?entity=EventRegistration&registrationID=256e0d83-5a38-4cc8-9e1b-0b5d7dbb38d5 does not work as expected.

When opening the link, it only redirects to the general Events page, and the specific event is not shown.

If the event is searched manually via the event search, it leads to a new registration flow. However, completing the registration is not possible because the email address is already registered for this event.

As a result, the personal registration link cannot be used to access the event details, and re‑registration is blocked due to the existing registration.

The behavior indicates an issue with the event platform’s registration/redirect configuration rather than something that can be fixed client‑side.

For Microsoft‑hosted events, when a personal registration link no longer resolves to the specific event and re‑registration is blocked because the email is already registered, the supported path is to contact the event support channel so they can:

    1. Verify that the registration is still active and correctly associated with the email address.
    2. Correct the registration/redirect mapping so the personal link opens the event details or a valid join/access page.
    3. If the event has already taken place or the registration record is in an inconsistent state, advise on re‑registering for a future occurrence or alternative access.

Similar issues with Microsoft virtual events (for example, Virtual Training Days) have been resolved only after backend systems were corrected or the attendee re‑registered for a new session once the synchronization problem was fixed.

If the event is a Microsoft training or certification‑related event (for example, Virtual Training Day or exam prep), use the official support/contact path mentioned in the event communication (often a Microsoft credentials or event support link) and provide:

    • The email address used for registration.
    • The event title and date.
    • The broken personal registration URL.

Support can then repair the registration or provide a new valid access link.
