Hello Jeff Handley
I understand how frustrating it is to have a Microsoft 365 subscription and find that features like "Rules" appear unavailable in your email client.
To help me find the right fix, I would like to clarify two specific details:
- Is the account you are trying to create rules for an @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, or @msn.com address? Or is it from a third-party provider like Gmail, Yahoo, or a custom domain provided by your ISP?
- Since you mentioned paying for Microsoft 365, could you confirm if this is a Microsoft 365 Personal/Family subscription or a business account provided by an organization?
In the meantime, please try the following steps:
1, Check Account Sync Status:
Go to Settings (the gear icon at the top right) and select Accounts. Ensure the account in question is listed and does not show any sync errors.
2, Access Rules via Web:
If the desktop app is temporarily restricted, you can manage rules directly on the server.
Log in to Outlook.com using your credentials, then go to Settings > Mail > Rules.
3, Verify Subscription Identity:
Ensure that the email address you used to sign into the Outlook app is the exact same one associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription. You can verify this under Settings > Accounts > Your accounts.
Please feel free to let me know how it goes. Thank you so much for your time and understanding.
