Unable to delete an external tenant

I setup an external tenant as part of an investigation. I then tried to delete it but it never quite worked. Since then I can't login to the tenant because I don't seem to have access to the MFA app associated with the account and that tenant.
The tenant isn't required. It was never used for anything of importance and just needs deleted.
According to Self Service Support, I need support from an Azure engineer to get rid of it.
