Not receiving log in codes from Yahoo since last Edge update

I cannot log in to my yahoo finance account since the last Edge update. The two-factor code e-mail is not coming to my e-mail account. I have checked the spam folder and all blocked sender settings. The only change to my system is the latest Edge update.

The issue is unlikely to be caused directly by the Edge update itself, but there are several Edge- and account-related checks that can help when verification codes are not being received.

Try the following steps in order:

    1. Use InPrivate or another browser
      • Open Edge InPrivate (Ctrl+Shift+N) and try signing in to Yahoo Finance again.
      • Alternatively, try another browser to see if the issue is browser-specific.
    2. Clear Edge cache and cookies for Yahoo
      • In Edge, go to Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data → Choose what to clear.
      • Select Cookies and cached files (at minimum) and clear them for “All time,” or use “Clear on exit” for Yahoo-related data.
      • Sign in to Yahoo Finance again and request a new code.
    3. Confirm the email account is working and not blocked
      • Send a test email to the same inbox that should receive the Yahoo 2FA code and confirm it arrives.
      • Check Junk/Spam again and any rules or filters that might move or delete messages.
    4. Avoid repeated code requests
      • Do not request codes repeatedly in quick succession. Excessive or repetitive requests can cause providers to temporarily block sending verification codes.
    5. Check for account security or lockout conditions
      • If Yahoo or the email provider has flagged the account for unusual activity, verification messages might be delayed or blocked until the security issue is resolved.
    6. Try a different 2FA method (if configured)
      • If the Yahoo account allows alternate verification methods (e.g., SMS, authenticator app), try switching to one of those temporarily to regain access.
    7. Test from a different network or device
      • Try from a different PC or from a mobile device on cellular data to rule out local network or device issues.

If codes still do not arrive after these steps, the problem is likely on the Yahoo or email-provider side rather than Edge. In that case, contact Yahoo support or the email provider to check for delivery or security blocks on verification messages.
