My Microsoft Apps have stopped working on my Samsung Ultra S25

I have Samsung S25 ultra and this week my microsoft apps stopped working. I noticed it first on my outlook emails - they weren't updating and then they disappeared just a black page no messages. My Teams app didn't allow me to make a teams meeting on Wednesday either, it just had the spinning circle trying to connect so had to switch to my laptop. Everything is working fine on my PC and laptop its just my phone that Microsoft has stopped working on. I'm not aware of any updates on my phone this week but I do see that there are a lot of other people having the same issue this week and wondered if you could advise how we fix this please? I was able to get Authenticator, word, excel, ppt and Teams back, but outlook is still fried. I've uninstalled outlook, rebooted, cleared data, cleared cache. If an uninstall and re-install doesn't work, what else can I do?

Outlook wasn't syncing at all, and after resetting the account, none of the emails populated. The solution from Patrick fixed the issue for now.

This worked for 2 minutes with Teams. The only way I have been successful is putting all Microsoft apps into the secure folder it works but is inconvenient. If I need to take a photo or attach a document, I have to add it to the secured folder etc.

My authenticator won't even open a code any more on my phone. My Teams won't sync. My outlook won't sync. Deleting and reinstalling only works for about 2 hours. I tried to uninstall the android update and it worked for about 4 hours then stopped. Im on two phones- Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+... both are not working at all with Microsoft as of a few days ago.

I know its a Microsoft problem because ALL OTHER APPS ARE WORKING JUST FINE. Please help

I'm telling you the only real work around right now is putting your authenticator teams and outlook into the secured folder.

It will require you to sign in like a new registration, but it will work.

Go into your settings then apps and find Android System WebView and click the 3 dots and remove updates. Then open Teams or Outlook and it will have you sign back in and it should work. Had the same issue for over a week and that resolved it.

I've uninstalled the update multiple times. My Samsung keeps reinstalling it. No Microsoft apps work on my phone.

Go to your settings and search Secure Folder. Then set it up and add Outlook Authenticator Teams etc. I'm at about 18hours of the apps working perfectly in the Secure Folder. So far all of the other solutions like un-installing the Samsung update have only given me 4 hours of resolution. I'm thinking the Secure Folder is going to be the fix for now!

Microsoft Authenticator app updated today from the Google Play Store and the update appears to have fixed the issue on my device (S25Ultra). I am now able to open/use Authenticator, Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, etc. that were not working for the past week.

The solution works for Microsoft Teams, but not for Microsoft Outlook. I also encountered another issue: when I tried to add a second account to Teams, the app stopped working.

I've added MS Teams, Authenticator and Outlook to my Secure folder and they all seem to be working (at the moment). Hopefully, we get an update soon that rectifies this.

Hi, not using teams on my phone or company portal, the only issue I am seeing is phonelink is now not working properly, I cannot load any apps on my laptop without first unlocking my phone, rendering phone link now completely useless to me, is this part of this issue?

Is not a solution for me. Works for 12hs, then need to restart. After some time, outlook works good, but other apps, the ones thats normally ask me for my fingerprint for login, instead they start asking for my PIN, (like Mercadopago, MODO) all are hanged, need to restart phone, then everything works great for SOME time, no more than 4 to 12 hs. Motorola g71, Android 12.

This seems to happens with only ONE hotmail account, however with other hotmail accounts (in same phone), it seems to works fine (or the working period is much longer).

Have this issue for more than 1 year, so changed form outlook to outlook Lite, and everything works fine, until they retired the app.

Please, make outlook lite back to work!

This issue was due to a WebView regression from the Samsung April 2026 security update.It can be resolved by following these steps:

Settings -> Search for "Android System Webview" -> App Details In Store -> Remove Updates
Reboot
Settings -> Search for "Android System Webview" -> App Details In Store -> Update
- Note: If "Android System Webview" doesn't appear in the app list, go to:
  Settings -> Google -> All services -> System Services -> Select "Android System Webview"
Reboot
Launch Teams/Outlook & log in.

These steps worked for me, although the steps to find Android System Webview were slightly different on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (Android 16). I used Google to figure out how to find it on my phone and followed those steps. After finding the service, I was able to follow your instructions and solve the issue. Thanks!

the problem has just come back and I have had to redo the steps again, however connection to mobile via phone link no longer works (PC shows Connected mobile shows Disconnected!

this worked for a short period, now does not work even when i follow the steps again. this needs a fix ASAP as i relay on the apps on my phone for work. cant contact anyone at Microsoft. Samsung say its nothing to do with them. very frustrating

This worked for me - but I've had to repeat the process daily to keep being able to look at emails (sometimes twice a day) and the authenticator app barely functions. Hoping there will be an update to fix this soon, as it's very frustrating.

This solution only worked for about a day for me, and now the apps are all back to not working. There's gotta be a patch Android and/or Microsoft can work out so this doesn't have to be done repeatedly.

Same issue. Had to "Remove Updates" from Android System Webview first, which was the only option. Then performed update as Patrick described. Rebooted, then was able to add my accounts back in & worked immediately.

The Android Web Viewer procedure worked for me for a few days and is back again. I read somewhere else to update the Private DNS Setting from Automatic to Off and that seems to have worked today. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

I have a samsung galaxy s25 ultra and following Patricks instructions has worked for me since i followed them two weeks ago. I turned off and have not reactivated my microsoft defender which seems to have avoided continual issues as all my microsoft products have continued to work without fault since doing this. It looks like there is some kind of clash issue with samsung and microsoft protection that needs sorting.

thanks Patrick , however it does not help i Sep 2026, i am facing same issues in S26 samsung where since last day, emails are no being sync in outlook app, however it works well on server, and having issues only in mobile out look app. i tried everything, reinstall, install reset, remove, clear cache, clear data, remove webview updates, update again. etc nothing helped. please please please help. fyi - if account is listed under google. for example, gmail is operated by outlook, it syncs the email. so issue is with only outlook app

Not sure if this is helpful I have the S26 Plus, I woke up to an update and my Outlook app is back to working normally I was able to add my email back with the app not being in a secure folder.
