Azure Dev Tools for Teaching and other Azure student offers require a valid Microsoft account that is correctly associated with the university domain and with an active institutional subscription.
Based on the error message in the screenshot (“No tiene acceso… no podemos validar su acceso”), the account being used cannot be validated for student access. Use these checks and steps:
- Confirm the correct account type
- Azure Dev Tools for Teaching requires a Microsoft account. If signing in with a personal address (for example,

- If there is no Microsoft account for the university email
- Create a Microsoft account using the university email as described in the “Use a university email address” section. This is required if the sign‑in page does not recognize the university email as a Microsoft account.
- If there is already a personal Microsoft account and it should be used for Azure student benefits
- Sign in at the Microsoft account page and add the university email as a sign‑in alias:
- Go to the sign‑in page for the Microsoft account.
- Open Your info → Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
- Verify identity with the security code.
- Select Add email and add the university email address.
- After this, use the university email when accessing Azure Dev Tools for Teaching or the Azure Education Hub.
- Sign in at the Microsoft account page and add the university email as a sign‑in alias:
- Verify that the institution has an active Azure Dev Tools for Teaching subscription
- Student access is unlocked by the domain that the subscription administrator configured. If the university domain is not part of a current subscription, student sign‑in will fail with an access error.
- If unsure, contact the university’s IT or program administrator and ask them to confirm that:
- The institution has an active Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (or Azure Education) subscription.
- The student email domain is included in that subscription.
- If sign‑in still fails after the above
- The institution’s administrator should go to the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching management portal, open the subscription, and check Actions → View Users to confirm that the student account/domain is allowed.
- If problems persist, use the Microsoft student support resources mentioned in the documentation for additional troubleshooting.
