Defender Offline Scan not starting

With the latest update Windows 11 25H2 26200.8246 Release Preview Channel, I went thru the process to run an offline scan. Defender goes thru all the motions to run a scan, however the system won't reboot for it to do it's scan.

Is anyone else having this problem? offline scan

Since I REJECTED the AI answer, why does the tag show answered by AI?

Hello Kirbster,

I tried on Release Preview and another device on Release, and on both devices, as soon as I pressed Scan, both devices rebooted immediately.

Suggest filing a FBH report recording this incident. Are you dual-booting by any chance.

no not dual booting on this setup. after 3 reboots it finally worked as it was supposed to.

After yesterdays update I did my usual and ran all the DISM and SFC commands, then "cleaned" up my C drive rebooted then went to Defender to run the offline scan. Usually it works on the 1st try. So I found this odd and posted my question.
