The new battery icon design is part of recent Windows 11 updates (including Insider builds) that update taskbar and lock screen battery indicators.
To get the new battery icon:
- Make sure the PC is on a Windows 11 build that includes the updated battery icons. These are rolling out gradually via Windows Update and Windows Insider builds. On supported builds, the new icons appear automatically in the system tray, Quick Settings, Settings, and the lock screen.
- After updating, to show the battery percentage next to the icon, go to Settings > System > Power & battery, then turn on Battery Percentage.
- If using the Windows 11 2024 Update with energy saver, an additional energy saver icon appears in the system tray (desktop PCs) or a leaf icon on battery-powered devices when energy saver is active. Configure this under Settings > System > Power & battery or via the Power & battery shortcut: Power & battery.
Once on a build that contains these changes, no separate download is needed; the new battery icon style is built into the OS.
