In the Word Windows desktop application from Microsoft 365 Family spelling will miss misspellings if the first letter of the word is uppercase.

This is a screenshot. None are set to not check spelling or grammar.

The option to ignore words that are all upper-case is unchecked.

Here is public feedback from five months ago on the issue. https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/f735d922-8cbc-f011-aa43-7c1e526e4a18 Feel free to comment or vote. I know that it did not accept anything beginning with an upper-case letter in the past but am not sure when this changed.

Note, when I want a proper noun to not generate a spelling error I either add it to my dictionary or use a character style to no check it.

I notice this using Word desktop application from Microsoft 365 Classic but suspect that it applies to all desktop Word. Update 2603.
