Lost access to Azure tenant – Admin account blocked

My Azure tenant is still active, but my personal Microsoft account (Hotmail/Outlook) that was the global administrator has been blocked by the tenant. I no longer have any admin accounts in the directory. I need to perform an Account Ownership Verification to regain access to my tenant and subscription. Please assist me in restoring admin access.

This issue is a tenant lockout scenario, where the Azure tenant itself is still active, but there are no accessible Global Administrator accounts able to sign in and manage the directory.

Because the only Global Administrator was a personal Microsoft account (Hotmail/Outlook) that is now blocked by the tenant, there is currently no admin-level access available within the directory to perform recovery actions such as role assignment or MFA reset.

In situations like this, self-service recovery is not possible. The only supported path to regain access is through Account Ownership Verification (AOV).

To resolve this:

• A support ticket has been raised to engage Microsoft’s Data Protection team.
• The Data Protection team will validate tenant ownership and work with you to restore administrative access.
• They will contact you directly via the email address or phone number associated with the support request to guide you through the recovery process and next steps.

Once ownership is verified, they will assist in restoring Global Administrator access so that normal tenant management can resume.

I think once ur only GA is blocked the tenant’s trust‑chain locks tight, so nothing inside can undo it. just send the AOV with domain‑proof—if it still won’t move, add billing‑owner docs, that’s the last path MS can act on.
