I have a M365 family subscription licence and have Excel and Word installed as desktop apps on my Mac Book Pro running Mac OS Tahoe 26.2. When I try and download Copilot for MAC from the official MSFT website the download fails after about 1 second.

can anyone help me

Try these steps on the Mac where the download is failing:

    1. Verify internet connectivity and pause any other large downloads.
    2. If a Copilot/Office installer download has started and is stuck, open the Downloads folder, drag the partially downloaded file to Trash, then empty the Trash.
    3. Using Safari (recommended on Mac), go to the Microsoft 365 site again and start the download from there.
    4. If it still fails quickly in Safari:
      • Open Safari > Preferences.
      • On the Security tab, make sure Enable Javascript is checked.
      • Go to the Privacy tab > Manage Website Data > Remove all.
      • Close Preferences and retry the download using Safari.

If the download button shows an error such as “An error has occurred. We can’t move on to the next step. Please try again later.”, fully quit the browser and try again.

Once the installer completes, look for it in Finder > Downloads and run it from there.
