Former Microsoft employee: personal account orphaned in blocked corporate tenant (AADSTS5000225) - cannot leave, blocking new Azure work

Issue Summary

My personal Microsoft account is permanently associated with an old

Microsoft-internal/corporate Entra tenant from my time as a Microsoft

employee. The tenant has been in a blocked state (AADSTS5000225) for

12+ months and has not been deleted. I have no way to remove the

association myself.

What I've Tried

• Cannot authenticate to the old tenant at all — AADSTS5000225 blocks every login attempt
• Cannot use myaccount.microsoft.com/organizations to leave — redirects to a login that fails due to the blocked tenant
• Cannot submit a support ticket online — the broken tenant creates an authentication loop in the support portal
• Called Microsoft support — phone IVR redirects back to online support

Why Standard Reactivation Advice Does Not Apply

• The 20-day reactivation window is not relevant — tenant has been in this state for 12+ months
• This was a Microsoft-owned corporate tenant from my employment, not a tenant I created or administered
• I am not the Global Admin and never was — I cannot initiate deletion or manage the tenant
• The tenant is blocked but has not been deleted, suggesting Microsoft-internal lifecycle handling is different from commercial tenants

Impact

The ghost tenant association surfaces in every Azure and Microsoft

account session, interfering with my ability to create and work

with a new Entra tenant for Azure and Graph API development.

This has been an active blocker for months.

What I Need

I need Microsoft's Data Protection or CSEO Identity team to

manually remove my personal account's association from the old

blocked corporate tenant. I do not need the old tenant

reactivated — I just need the orphaned link removed so I can

work cleanly with a new tenant under my existing Microsoft account.
