Help me route out copilot from all my Microsoft app but not lose my subscription

To keep the Microsoft 365 apps and OneDrive but remove Copilot features, switch from the current Microsoft 365 Premium/Family plan to the corresponding Classic plan where available.

For consumer subscriptions (like Microsoft 365 Family/Premium):

1. Go to the Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the Microsoft account used for the subscription.
2. Select the Microsoft 365 subscription and choose Manage / Manage subscription.
3. Start the cancellation/downgrade flow by selecting Cancel subscription.
4. During this process, look for the option to switch to the Classic plan (for example, “Microsoft 365 Family Classic”) instead of fully cancelling. This Classic plan keeps the core Office apps and OneDrive but does not include Copilot and may not receive new feature updates.

In regions where the Classic offer is available (such as Australia for Microsoft 365 Family), switching to Classic:

• Keeps access to the Office apps and OneDrive.
• Removes Copilot AI assistant features from the subscription.
• Keeps pricing at the pre‑Copilot level when specified (for example, Microsoft 365 Family Classic at the older price).

If the downgrade option to Classic does not appear in the cancellation flow, the Classic plan may not be available for that subscription or region, and Copilot cannot be removed without changing to a different eligible plan.

If Copilot is only unwanted in specific apps (for example, Word on Mac), some apps allow disabling Copilot in their own settings without changing the subscription. For Word on Mac:

1. Open Word.
2. Go to Word > Preferences.
3. In Authoring & Proofing Tools, select Copilot.
4. Clear Enable Copilot. The Copilot button remains but is dimmed and inactive.

This app-level disablement stops Copilot in that app but does not change the subscription itself.
