Hi All,
Has anyone else had their Pearson VUE exam suddenly revoked for reasons that seem unreasonable?
I was taking the GH-900: GitHub Foundations exam and was about to finish with only 10 questions left. I live in a very small house, and my computer is in the living area near the entrance. My mother briefly passed behind me on her way out to buy food and get ready for work.
The proctor asked me to turn my camera to show my surroundings, which I did immediately. I then spoke very briefly in my native language to ask my mother not to come in because I was about to finish the exam. For this, the proctor gave me another warning. Despite my polite explanation that I was almost done, the proctor ended the exam and revoked it immediately.
Earlier in the exam, a proctor had also insisted that I remove books from my desk, even though the official exam rules allow it. I complied, but this added unnecessary stress.
I had prepared for this exam for a long time, even rescheduling twice because proctors weren't available. I had taken time off work to sit for it. And now it's just gone. No discussion, no chance to finish.
This is extremely frustrating. How is Pearson going to compensate for the lost exam, the preparation time, and the work time I had to set aside? How is this strictness fair for people living in small homes or normal household environments?
Has anyone else faced this, and what's the proper way to appeal or escalate this situation?
