Hello, I am having an error and I still cannot get anyone to assist me.

The error occurs when attempting to log into Microsoft Partner Center at partner.microsoft.com — not the Azure Portal.

Full details:

Error code: AADSTS5000228

Error message: "The user account does not exist in the tenant"

Tenant attempting to access: [[Moderator note: personal info removed]

@axltecptyltd.onmicrosoft.com] (Tenant ID: 7[Moderator note: personal info removed]

)

Root cause (as I understand it): There is an older, incomplete tenant created during a previous registration attempt — axltec.onmicrosoft.com — that appears to be conflicting with the new tenant. The old tenant was never fully configured and has no active MPN registration, but it is blocking access to the new one.

What I am trying to do: Complete MPN (Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program) registration under the new tenant [[Moderator note: personal info removed]

@axltecptyltd.onmicrosoft.com] in order to obtain an MPN ID and activate a CSP reseller agreement through Tarsus Distribution.

What I have already tried:

Logging in via InPrivate/Incognito browser — same error

Clearing all browser cache and cookies — same error

Attempting login from a different device — same error

Request: I need the old incomplete tenant (axltec.onmicrosoft.com) either disassociated from my account or deleted, so that the new tenant can proceed through Partner Center registration without conflict.

Correlation IDs for reference:

Please advise on the correct escalation path to resolve the tenant conflict. I am happy to verify account ownership through any required process.

Thank you, [Moderator note: personal info removed]

The correlation ID in the error message is only a diagnostic token for Microsoft and tenant admins. It does not itself identify the problem or provide a fix.

For the scenario described (sign‑in to Partner Center failing with AADSTS5000228 and suspected tenant conflict between axltec.onmicrosoft.com and axltecptyltd.onmicrosoft.com), resolution requires direct assistance from Microsoft support with access to tenant logs and identity data. Forum moderators and documentation cannot remove or merge tenants, disassociate identities, or adjust Partner Center mappings.

    The appropriate escalation path is:

    1. Contact Microsoft support for business accounts and ask to be routed to the Microsoft 365 Data Protection team or Partner Center support, explaining that:
      • There are two tenants (axltec.onmicrosoft.com and axltecptyltd.onmicrosoft.com).
      • Partner Center sign‑in fails with AADSTS5000228.
      • The older tenant is incomplete and appears to be blocking Partner Center registration on the new tenant.
      • Provide the tenant IDs, affected user UPNs, and the correlation IDs and timestamps from the error.
    2. If already in a Microsoft 365 tenant where sign‑in works, use that tenant’s admin/support channel as described in the account‑access guidance to reach the Data Protection team, who have tools to verify identity and correct tenant/account issues.
    3. If no working tenant or admin access is available, follow the documented path to contact Microsoft business support by phone and request Data Protection assistance for tenant/account recovery and cleanup.

The Data Protection/Partner Center support teams can then:

    • Verify ownership of the domains and tenants.
    • Investigate the correlation IDs in the service logs.
    • Decide whether to remove or disable the old, incomplete tenant or adjust account associations so that Partner Center registration can proceed on the intended tenant.

The correlation IDs provided should be given to support staff so they can trace the failed sign‑in attempts in the logs.
