Usually, I get email notification from Microsoft to renew a certificate before six months of expiry. This time I did not receive notification and certificate expire is on 11 July 2026. How do I renew certificate "Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate". Could you please support.

The Azure Data Engineer Associate certification and its renewal assessment are scheduled to retire on March 31, 2025. After that date, it will no longer be possible to earn or renew this certification.

For role-based certifications that are still active, renewal works as follows:

    1. Renewal is only possible in the 6‑month window before the certification’s expiration date.
    2. Renewal is done exclusively via the free online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn; retaking the original exam or a beta exam does not renew it.
    3. If a certification expires, it cannot be renewed; it must be earned again by passing the required exam(s).
    4. Email notifications are not guaranteed; the supported way to check renewal availability is in the Learn profile.

To check whether renewal is currently available for this certification in the account:

    1. Sign in to Microsoft Learn.
    2. Open the profile (avatar in the top-right → Profile).
    3. Select Certifications.
    4. Look for the Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate entry:
      • If a blue Renew button is present, select it and complete the renewal assessment before the earlier of:
        • The certification’s expiration date, and
        • The certification retirement date (March 31, 2025).
      • If no Renew button is shown, renewal is not currently available for that certification in the account.

If the certification has already passed its expiration date, or if the renewal assessment has been retired due to the March 31, 2025 retirement, it cannot be renewed and would need to be re-earned (if a successor certification/exam is available).

For any account-specific issues (for example, the certification is within the renewal window and before retirement, but no Renew button appears), open a support request via the Microsoft Credentials support channel so the certification support team can review the profile and eligibility.
