I have tried to download Vision Professional, but it says for some reason it says "We are sorry, we couldn't verify you are a student. Please start the academic verification process here" and when a click in the link it brings me back to the same page asking to verify that I am a student.

    Hi Ruben Encarnacion Moran

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum and for sharing your issue.

Based on your description, it seems the academic verification process may be stuck in a loop, preventing the system from confirming your student status.

To better understand the situation, could you please provide a bit more detail:

    • Which account are you using for this process? Are you signing in with a school account or a personal Microsoft account (Outlook, Hotmail, Live)?
    • Is your school account still active?

In the meantime, you may try the following steps to see if it helps:

    • Use an InPrivate/Incognito browser session
    • Clear browser cache and cookies or try a different browser
    • Sign out and sign back in before starting the verification again

Please understand that our initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I look forward to your response.

The Visio download page is looping because the academic status for the account has not been successfully verified yet. Academic offers (including Visio at student/education pricing) require that the school and/or student eligibility be confirmed first.

Use these steps depending on the scenario:

    1. Confirm that the school is eligible and verified
      1. Go to the Microsoft 365 Education sign-up page: https://www.microsoft.com/education/products/office.
      2. Sign up using the official school email address (for example, .edu or the domain provided by the institution).
      3. This creates a Microsoft 365 Education trial for the school. Microsoft then verifies the school’s academic eligibility.
      4. If the verification wizard appears, complete it with the school’s domain information. In many cases approval is immediate; in others, Microsoft may request more information and can take up to 10 business days.
      5. If the wizard was closed before entering a domain, it can be resumed at any time during the free trial using the “resume the academic verification wizard” link in the documentation.
    2. Check the school’s verification status
      1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center with the Education trial admin account.
      2. On the home page, locate the Billing card.
      3. Check the status shown there: approved, pending, declined, or add your domain.
        • If status is pending, wait for the review to complete.
        • If status is add your domain, reopen the academic verification wizard and finish entering the school domain.
        • If status is declined, the school is not currently approved for academic pricing and the Visio student offer will not work.
    3. If using student discounts on certifications or Learn If the goal is a student discount on Microsoft Certification exams (not Visio licensing), ensure the Learn profile is marked as a student:
      1. Sign in to the Learn profile and start the interest survey.
      2. Choose “Career Paths” and select “Student.”
      3. Complete the survey. Once academic status is verified in that profile, student discounts apply to exam registrations.
    4. If the loop continues
      • Confirm that the same account is used everywhere (Visio page, Education sign-up, and admin center).
      • If the Billing card does not show an Education trial status at all, the school may not have a Microsoft 365 Education trial yet; start one via the Education products page and complete verification.
      • If the school is denied or not supported, the Visio student/academic offer cannot be applied to that account.

If, after confirming that the school is approved and the correct account is used, the page still loops, the next step is to contact Microsoft support (for example, via the Microsoft 365 admin center) so they can review the specific tenant and academic verification state.
