Hello,
I’ve noticed a discrepancy between the IP geolocation shown in Microsoft Entra sign-in logs and what external IP lookup tools (such as whatsmyipaddress.com) report.
Here are the details
- Chicago, Illinois, US – IP: 64.29.176.2 → Currently resolves to Holly, Michigan, US
It seems the physical locations appearing in Entra’s sign-in logs don’t match the public geolocation data from other sources. This has appeared across several users.
Could someone from Microsoft clarify how Entra determines IP geolocation and get this fixed? A support ticket needs to be created to resolve this matter but the current support plan in our subscription does not allow it. This issue has happened on the past and with a support ticket it has been resolved.
Please assist.
