Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Sign in with the Family (Organizer) account on the link below:

    https://account.microsoft.com/family/home

Select your Child account (click the three horizontal dots), click Manage consent.

In the manage permissions page, select Edit this child's personal info

You can then change the child's personal info, like Date of Birth, and click Save.

For a Microsoft child account, the birth date cannot be changed directly by the child and may be limited even for parents if the account is classified as a child account to prevent bypassing family restrictions.

To manage or correct the child’s birth date where possible in the Microsoft ecosystem:

    1. Using the adult Microsoft account that gave consent, go to the Microsoft child management page: https://account.live.com/mykids.aspx.
    2. Sign in with the organizing (adult) Microsoft account.
    3. If the child account appears, select Edit this child's personal info and follow the instructions to adjust the date of birth.
      • If Edit this child's personal info is not visible, the account may no longer be classed as a child in that region, or another adult may be the one with consent.

If the account is still a child account and the goal is to change the date from a younger year to an older year (for example, to make the child appear older and remove restrictions), this is intentionally blocked. In that case:

    • The child account must remain under family supervision until it reaches the statutory adult age for the region (for example, 18 in most countries, 19 in Canada).
    • In the meantime, privacy and online safety settings can only be adjusted by the parent/guardian via:

If the child is now an adult and wants privacy, the child can be removed from the Microsoft Family group once the account is recognized as adult age.

Note: The “Family Link” app mentioned is a Google product; changes made there do not change the Microsoft account’s date of birth. The Microsoft account’s DOB must be managed through the Microsoft account and Family Safety pages as described above.
