Hi,

Trying to release my product on the store.

Product is setup, but I have the banner "You need to update your tax and payout information before you can charge money." preventing we from clicking submitt.

My tax and payment information have been setup and approved for a few days now.

How can I submit?

The banner appears when the Store offer doesn’t yet see a valid payout and tax profile assigned to the relevant program/seller ID, even if the profiles themselves are already created and approved.

Use these steps to resolve it:

    1. Confirm tax profile is fully completed and validated
      • In Partner Center, select the Settings (gear) icon → Account settings → Payout and tax profiles.
      • Ensure the tax profile status is Complete (not Pending Microsoft Validation or Action Required). If it’s still pending and more than 48 hours have passed, submit a support ticket.
    2. Confirm payout (payment) profile is fully completed and validated
      • In the same Payout and tax profiles page, check the payment profile status. It must show Complete; initial validation can take up to 48 hours.
    3. Assign the profiles to the correct program/seller ID
      • Go to Account settings → Payout and tax profile assignment.
      • Select the program and seller ID that corresponds to the Store/Marketplace offer.
      • In the flyout, choose the correct payout account and tax profile from the dropdowns, and ensure a payout currency is selected where required.
      • Select Save/Submit.
    4. Wait for assignment to propagate
      • After assignment and validation, allow up to 48 hours for the Store to recognize the configuration. Then reopen the offer and try Submit again.
    5. If the banner remains
      • Verify that the account being used has the required role (Owner/Finance Contributor or Incentives admin, depending on program) to manage payout and tax profiles.
      • If everything appears correct and more than 48 hours have passed since validation and assignment, open a support ticket from Partner Center so Microsoft can check the specific enrollment and unblock submission.
