I redeemed 30 000won worth of minecraft giftcard on my son's cellphone but using my email address as its microsoft account. He is using my email address to play Minecraft. I checked everything. I redeemed the giftcard correctly under my gmail account which my son is using to play Minecraft. The problem is, the money is not there on my son's Minecraft game. I did everything, I checked everything. I also checked my order history under the same gmail account and the history of redeeming is there. But why the money is not redeemed on my son's Minecraft game. What should I do.

Microsoft account balance and gift card redemptions are tied to the Microsoft account itself, not to a specific game profile, and they are non‑transferable between accounts.

From the description, the gift card was redeemed successfully to the Microsoft account (the Gmail-based account) and appears in the order history. In that case, the balance is on that Microsoft account and can be used only by that same account at Microsoft “Participating Stores” (for example, Microsoft Store, Xbox, etc.), subject to each store’s rules and restrictions.

Key points from the documented behavior:

    1. Gift cards add money to the Microsoft account balance when redeemed, not directly to a specific game wallet.
    2. The account balance is non‑transferable to another person or Microsoft account.
    3. The money can be used only at Participating Stores and may not be usable for certain in‑app purchases or subscriptions, depending on restrictions.

Because of this, if the Minecraft/Minecoin purchase flow in the game is not recognizing or using the Microsoft account balance, it is likely due to one of these:

    • The game is signed in with a different Microsoft/Xbox profile than the one where the gift card was redeemed.
    • The specific Minecoin or in‑app purchase path does not accept Microsoft account balance in that region or scenario.

Recommended checks and actions based on the documented rules:

    1. Confirm the exact Microsoft account
      • On the device, open the Microsoft account profile being used in Minecraft and verify it is the same account where the gift card was redeemed (same email address shown in the Microsoft account dashboard and order history).
    2. Verify the balance is present on that account
      • Sign in to the Microsoft account online and confirm that the redeemed amount is present as account balance and that the redemption appears in order history.
    3. Try purchasing through a Participating Store
      • From the same Microsoft account, attempt to initiate the Minecoin or Minecraft-related purchase through the official store path (for example, the Microsoft Store/Xbox store entry point used by the game) and check whether the store offers the Microsoft account balance as a payment option.
    4. If the game still does not show the funds
      • Because the account balance is non‑transferable and usage is restricted by store rules, contact Minecraft/Microsoft Store/Xbox support via the official help channels for that account, provide the order history showing the redemption, and ask them to review why the balance is not available for Minecoin purchases on that profile.

These steps align with how Microsoft account balances and gift cards are designed to work and with the restriction that the balance cannot be moved to a different account or converted to cash except where required by law.
