Use the TV again as display and fix the size with these steps:
- Re-enable the TV output
- With the PC connected to the TV by HDMI, press Windows logo key + P.
- Use the arrow keys to select Duplicate or Extend, then press Enter.
- If the TV still shows nothing, press Windows logo key + P again and try Second screen only.
- Open Display settings
- On the PC, select Start > Settings > System > Display.
- In Rearrange your displays, select Identify so the numbers appear on each screen and confirm which is the TV.
- If the TV does not appear, go to Multiple displays and select Detect.
- Fix the TV screen being too large (overscan/scale)
- In Display settings, select the TV display box.
- Scroll to Scale and layout.
- Under Change the size of text, apps, and other items, choose the value marked (Recommended).
- Under Display resolution, select the option marked (Recommended) for the TV.
- Select Apply and confirm the changes.
- Check for driver/Windows updates (if resolution options look wrong or keep changing)
- Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates and install any available updates. This can update the graphics driver and fix resolution issues.
If the TV still cuts off the edges after using the recommended resolution and scale, adjust the picture size/overscan settings in the TV’s own menu (often called “Picture Size”, “Aspect Ratio”, “Just Scan”, or “Screen Fit”).
