Migration of a Microsoft Certification / Learn profile, exams, or vouchers from a disabled work account to a personal account is not supported.
Key points from the documented behavior:
- If a work or school account used to sign in to Microsoft Learn is lost or disabled and no alternate login was added, access to that Learn profile and its data (including certifications) is lost.
- Microsoft cannot assist with recovery of work or school accounts. Only the former employer’s IT administrator can restore or manage that account.
- Microsoft Credentials Support cannot transfer or restore the contents of a Learn profile that cannot be accessed.
Based on this, the only possible path is:
- Work with the former employer’s IT administrator
- Ask them to temporarily re-enable the work account or help reset the password according to their corporate policy.
- Once access is restored, sign in to the Learn profile and immediately add a personal Microsoft account as an additional login.
- After adding the personal account, use that personal account going forward.
- If the employer will not or cannot restore the work account
- The documented guidance is that access to the Learn profile and its data (including certifications and associated assets) is lost.
- Microsoft Credentials Support cannot override this or move data/vouchers from that profile to a different account.
- For any issues that are purely Microsoft account–level (not work/school)
- Use the Microsoft Account Help self-service flows described in the account recovery documentation, such as:
- However, these flows do not apply to a work or school account that is disabled or governed by an organization’s policies.
There is no supported process in the provided documentation to migrate or merge a certification profile, transcript, or vouchers from a disabled work account to a personal Microsoft account.
