Training: Instruction to develop new skills.
Azure for Students requires eligibility verification through an organization-provided email address from an accredited, degree‑granting institution.
If the message says that the email isn’t found, the most common causes based on the documented requirements are:
- The institution isn’t recognized as an eligible, accredited higher‑education institution for this offer.
- The email domain isn’t configured/recognized as a valid academic domain for verification.
- The offer has already been redeemed once for that person (only one Azure for Students subscription is allowed per eligible customer).
Key points from the offer requirements:
- Must be a full‑time student at an accredited, degree‑granting two‑ or four‑year institution.
- Must verify academic status using the organization’s email address.
- Only one Azure for Students subscription per eligible customer; it’s nontransferable and can’t be combined with other offers unless Microsoft explicitly allows it.
If the student email is not recognized during sign‑up:
- Confirm that the institution is an accredited, degree‑granting college or university and that the account being used is the official school email.
- If all requirements are met and the email still fails, contact the institution’s IT/administration to confirm whether the school participates in Microsoft’s academic programs and whether the email domain is correctly set up for student verification.
- If still blocked after that, the remaining option is to use another Azure offer (for example, a standard free account) instead of Azure for Students.
