Hey I just moved countries and I have been trying to setup my exams in Latin America and I have not been able to use my USA credit card to pay for them. I have looked for contact resources and ways to fix this but I have been unable to. I have contacted my credit card provider and they say the payment never reached them so I have reason to believe it is Pearson/Microsofts problem.

P.S When I try to schedule it in the USA I face no problems for payment.

For Latin American exam payments, the issue is most likely related to regional payment restrictions and how the payment method and account country/region are configured, not the card itself.

Use these steps to resolve it:

    1. Verify the card is allowed for the country/region
      • Payment methods must be issued from the same country/region as the tenant or account in many Microsoft systems. If the Latin America scheduling flow is treating the account as a Latin American tenant, a US-issued card might be rejected before it ever reaches the bank.
      • For Azure and other Microsoft services, cards must match the selected country/region, and some regions only accept certain card types (for example, some regions only support credit cards, not debit, and India does not support American Express) as described in the Azure and Marketplace billing docs.
    2. Check that the card is not a prepaid/virtual card
      • Prepaid and virtual cards are not accepted for many Microsoft and marketplace purchases, including Azure and Microsoft Marketplace. If the US card is prepaid/virtual, it may work in some US flows but be blocked in others.
    3. Confirm billing details exactly match the card
      • Ensure the name, address (including country/region), postal code, and CVV entered in the Latin America scheduling/payment page match exactly what the bank has on file for the US card. Any mismatch can cause the transaction to be rejected before it reaches the issuer.
    4. Check for account country/region mismatch
      • If the Microsoft account profile or billing profile has been changed to a Latin American country, adding or using a US card can fail. To use a payment method from another country, the account region usually must match the card’s country when adding it.
      • The documented flow to add a payment method for a different country is to change the account’s country/region first (Your info → Edit profile info), then add the payment method. However, this is recommended only if actually moving long-term because items from one region might not work in another.
    5. Contact the correct support channel
      • Because the payment is failing before it reaches the bank and involves exam scheduling (Pearson VUE plus Microsoft certification systems), direct support is required:
        • For exam scheduling blocks or repeated payment failures, ERROR_VUE_WIDE_BLOCK is a known Pearson VUE block condition. The documented resolution is to contact Pearson VUE support using the link on https://aka.ms/CertificationSupport so they can lift any block and review payment issues.
        • If there are any Microsoft account billing or payment-method issues (for example, adding the US card to the Microsoft account or using it in Microsoft Store/Microsoft 365 flows), use Microsoft Support via the standard contact path described in the billing support answers (Get Help → Contact Support / Call me back) so an agent can review the billing profile and region configuration.

In practice, the next concrete steps are:

    1. Verify the US card is a standard credit card (not prepaid/virtual) and that all billing details are US and correct.
    2. Ensure the Microsoft account profile and billing profile country/region align with how the exam is being scheduled.
    3. Contact Pearson VUE via the Certification Support link to check for any account/payment blocks and have them attempt the transaction or advise on allowed payment methods for the chosen Latin American test program.
    4. If needed, contact Microsoft billing support to verify that the Microsoft account and payment options are correctly configured for cross-region use.
