Whether I attempt to print wirelessly (from iPhone 14) or from my laptop, any and/or EVERY document that I "think" I'm printing, comes out completely blank/white. I cannot figure out why this is happening. I have Multiple Sclerosis, so I'm already dealing with the messages and information in my brain, not connecting like they should. I definitely don't need this happening to my laptop/iPhone 14/Printer, too! It has become very overwhelming and frustrating when I'm trying to print important documents and they all come out blank! PLEASE HELP! Thanks so much,

Kim

Follow these steps to narrow down and fix the issue of blank pages when printing from both iPhone and laptop:

    1. Test if the printer can print anything at all
      From the Windows laptop:
      1. Select Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
      2. Select the printer, then select Manage > Printer properties.
      3. On the General tab, select Print Test Page.
      • If the test page is also blank, the issue is likely with the printer hardware (ink/toner, printhead, or internal printer settings) rather than the phone or laptop.
    2. Check whether printing works from other apps/files
      On the laptop:
      1. Try printing a simple text file from Notepad or a picture from Paint.
      2. Try printing a different document from the same app that is failing (for example, another Word or PDF file).
      • If some apps print correctly and others do not, the problem may be app‑specific settings or corrupted documents.
    3. Verify printer selection and basic print settings in each app
In the app being used (for example, Word, Excel, or Edge):
      1. Go to File > Print.
      2. Confirm the correct physical printer is selected (not Microsoft Print to PDF or another virtual printer).
      3. Make sure Print to PDF or Print to file is not selected.
      4. Confirm page size, orientation, and layout look normal.
    4. Check if Windows can communicate with the printer reliably
If the test page in step 1 does not print correctly:
      1. Confirm the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi‑Fi network as the laptop.
      2. In Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, select the printer and choose Open print queue.
      3. Select (ellipsis) and choose Cancel all to clear any stuck jobs.
      4. Open Services (search for services from the taskbar), find Print Spooler, right‑click it, and select Restart.
      5. Try printing the Windows test page again.
    5. Run the Windows printer troubleshooter
      1. Open Devices and Printers by pressing the Windows logo key + S and typing Devices and printers.
      2. Right‑click the printer and select Troubleshoot.
      3. Follow the steps in the wizard and apply any fixes it suggests.
    6. Update or reinstall the printer driver on the laptop
      1. Go to the printer manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver for the exact printer model and Windows version.
      2. Install the updated driver.
      3. If problems continue, remove and re‑add the printer:
        • In Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select the printer and remove it.
        • Add the printer again and test printing a Windows test page and a simple document.
    7. Check whether the issue is specific to Microsoft Edge (for web pages)
If blank pages appear when printing from Edge:
      1. Open a different website or online document.
      2. In Edge, go to Settings and more > Print (or press Ctrl+P) and print using the same printer and settings.
      3. If that works, open the original site, click the Immersive Reader icon in the address bar (if available), then try printing again from reading mode.
    8. Compare behavior between iPhone and laptop
      • If both devices send jobs that come out blank, and the printer’s own test page is also blank, the problem is almost certainly inside the printer (ink/toner, clogged heads, or internal firmware). In that case, use the printer’s built‑in maintenance tools (print head cleaning, nozzle check) or contact the printer manufacturer’s support.
      • If the printer’s own test page prints correctly but jobs from both devices are blank, focus on the network connection and drivers (steps 4–7) and test from multiple apps.

If none of these steps change the behavior and the printer’s own test page is blank, the next step is to work with the printer manufacturer’s support, as that points to a hardware or firmware issue rather than Microsoft software.
