A cloud-based task management app from Microsoft that helps users organize and manage daily tasks across devices.
Microsoft To Do syncs tasks and lists through the same account across devices, and changes should appear automatically within a few seconds. If items added to My Day on the phone are not appearing on the laptop app, the most likely causes are account mismatch or sync not completing.
Check the following:
- Verify the same account is used on both devices
- On the phone, open Microsoft To Do and confirm the signed-in account.
- On the laptop, open Microsoft To Do and confirm the signed-in account.
- If they differ (for example, personal vs work/school), sign out and sign back in with the same account on both.
- Force a sync in Microsoft To Do
- Ensure both devices are online.
- In Microsoft To Do on each device, trigger a manual sync (or close and reopen the app).
- Microsoft To Do updates about every 5 seconds, so new items should appear shortly once sync is working.
- Confirm tasks are in To Do, not only in Outlook Tasks UI
- Tasks are stored on Exchange Online servers and sync automatically between Microsoft To Do and Outlook Tasks.
- Make sure the items were actually created in Microsoft To Do on the phone (in My Day or a list) and not in a different app or account.
If the same account is used and both apps are online but My Day still does not match, sign out of To Do on the laptop, close the app, reopen it, and sign in again with the same account to refresh the profile and sync state.
