If the Xbox subscription was canceled instead of just turning off recurring billing, it generally cannot be reactivated directly; a new subscription must be purchased.
Use these steps to check status and options:
- Go to the Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the same Microsoft account used for the Xbox subscription.
- Find the Xbox subscription in the list:
- If it shows Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is still active until the listed expiry date. In this case, there is nothing to restore; access continues until that date.
- If it shows as Canceled or has an end date in the past, it cannot be resumed and a new Xbox subscription must be purchased.
- If the subscription was canceled very recently and there is a billing or refund question, follow the refund guidance at How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription and, if needed, contact Microsoft Support from that page.
If the Xbox subscription was purchased through a third party (for example, a mobile app store or retailer), subscription management and any restoration or refund options must be handled through that third party’s support.
