Dear Microsoft Learn Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to request an extension for the renewal deadline of my Microsoft certification, which has recently expired. Unfortunately, during the renewal period, I experienced severely restricted access to my computer due to unforeseen circumstances, which prevented me from completing the required steps within the allotted timeframe.

I deeply value my Microsoft certification and remain fully committed to maintaining it. Now that my situation has been resolved and I have full access to my equipment again, I would like to proceed with the renewal as soon as possible.

Could you please let me know whether it is possible to extend the renewal window or schedule a new renewal assessment? I would greatly appreciate any flexibility or guidance you are able to offer.

It is not possible to extend the renewal window or renew a Microsoft certification after it has expired.

Role-based and specialty certifications must be renewed by passing the free online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn before the certification’s expiration date. Renewal is only available during the six months prior to expiration; once the certification has expired, the renewal option is no longer available and there are no exceptions or alternative renewal paths. To regain the certification, the required exam(s) must be passed again.
