Hello,

A Resource Group containing a Load Balancer was deleted. This Load Balancer was previously used as a backend for Azure Front Door.

Following the deletion, multiple delete operations are now failing within the affected environment. The failures appear to be caused by remaining dependencies and references (e.g., backend pools, routing rules) in Front Door that still point to the deleted resources.

As a result, Azure is unable to complete cleanup operations, leading to repeated failed delete events and an inconsistent resource state.

How can I fix this issue?

Hello @91971187

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

As discussed, the load balancer was created by your colleague, and you are not familiar with the infrastructure. Whenever you remove the resource lock, the load balancer automatically enters the deleting state. Please check with your internal team to see if any automation has been set up to delete the load balancer regarding this issue, and in the meantime, add the resource lock to prevent deletion.

Please check if any automation has been set up to delete the resources. Navigate to the automation runbook service in the portal and verify if there is a runbook created for deleting resources.

Kindly let us know if the above helps or you need further assistance on this issue.

Please "Accept the Answer" if the information helped you. This will help us and others in the community as well.
